Heat in the kitchen with M+C’s charity Bake Off

For the second successive year, Munday + Cramer’s staff dumped their hard hats and donned their pinnies to compete in a bake off! Joining Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, staff competed to create the best cake at a coffee and cake morning to raise much-needed funds for the cancer support charity. Colleagues and contractors enjoyed a fun couple of hours tasting all of the cakes and catching up after a very busy summer for the multi-disciplinary architectural, building surveying and property management practice. An audience with… The RICS

Munday + Cramer are again in the limelight, following the recent foray in to the world of television, with the filming of a piece regarding our successes in an innovative new Degree Apprenticeship programme. RICS Issue Facilities Management Guidelines

The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) in conjunction with the International Facilities Management Association (IFMA) have issued a professional statement, offering guidance around Facilities Management procurement. In addition, the existing code of conduct will be amended for FM providers, and all RICS regulated surveying practices will need to adopt these new standards by October 2018. M+C’s second Chartered Architect

RIBA Architect Accreditation There are celebrations in the M+C offices this week as James Atkinson became the practice’s second RIBA chartered architect. James joined M+C as a graduate architect in 2008, and has been working towards chartered status since then. The accreditation process is both lengthy and in-depth, culminating in a professional interview which took place this week. M+C director, and head of our architecture department Phil Ruffle, himself a RIBA chartered architect, supported James through the process. M+C Degree Apprentice becomes media star!

M+C, Essex County Council’s Enterprise Advisory Service, RICS, and Anglia Ruskin University’s employability service have joined forces to produce a short film this week. The film’s purpose is to promote links between businesses and students from KS4 onwards, and features the practice’s Degree Apprentice, Michael Smith. M+C’s involvement M+C have a long established history with nurturing local talent, and has strong links with both Anglia Ruskin University and William-De-Ferrers School. New office and new team members

Munday + Cramer has been very successful over the past few years, in CIF funding for Education. Since 2014, the practice has supported local academies in their funding applications, and has secured some £70m in grants. The function of the fund is to provide academy schools with the money needed to improve their buildings. M+C Project Manager rides Tour de France Stage for charity

The Grand Depart Classic event M+C Senior Surveyor and Project Manager, Mark Jackson took part in the 2018 Grand Depart Classic. This year was the third time that the event has taken place, raising money for Prostrate Cancer UK each time. The charity are committed to raising money not only to fund research, but also to offer support to sufferers and their families. The Ride Mark joined an intrepid team of 230 riders from all over the UK who cycled the 118 miles from Noirmoutier-En-L’ile to Fontenay-Le-Comte following the first stage of this year’s Tour de France. Over £22 Million In CIF Funding Secured For Academies In 2018/9 Round

Munday + Cramer have once again beaten the odds, securing in excess of £22 million in funding from the Condition Improvement Fund (CIF). The Education and Skills Funding Agency recently announced the results of the annual funding round. An unprecedented £1.3 billion was requested across across 3,800 projects! In total 1556 schemes were funded for 1299 academies and sixth-form colleges, amounting to £514 million. Of this, £38 million was funded using the Healthy Pupils Capital Fund (HPCF), designated to help improve children and young people’s physical and mental health. M+C achieves ISO Certification

Celebrations took place in Munday + Cramer’s offices this week, following a double-success in achieving ISO certification. Following assessment of the practice’s quality and environmental management systems, M+C was given certification for both ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:20015 respectively. The certification covers the whole practice and all of its activities. What is ISO Certification? International Standards make things work. They give world-class specifications for products, services and systems, to ensure quality, safety and efficiency. They are instrumental in facilitating international trade.
