Munday & Cramer is delighted to share the successful completion of the soft play area refurbishment at St Helen’s Catholic Primary School, London. Working in close partnership with specialist contractor TL Group Soft Play Designs, our team provided comprehensive project management and principal designer services from concept through to completion.

The project was designed to transform an existing area into a vibrant, engaging, and welcoming environment that supports children’s development through active play, exploration, and social interaction. The completed space provides pupils with a safe and stimulating setting that can be enjoyed throughout the school day.

Our Role

Munday & Cramer was appointed to provide full project management, design and procurement, contract administration, and CDM Principal Designer services for the scheme. Our involvement included:

• Site inspections and surveys to establish the project scope.
• Liaison with specialist contractors and suppliers to develop the design solution.
• Preparation of pre-construction information and CDM documentation.
• Management of the tendering and procurement process.
• Evaluation of contractor submissions and recommendations for appointment.
• Contract administration throughout the construction phase.
• Regular site inspections, progress meetings, and stakeholder liaison.
• Cost management and administration of project payments

Delivering the Project

Through close collaboration with the school and TL Group Soft Play Designs, the project was carefully planned and managed to ensure a smooth delivery while minimising disruption to the school’s daily operations. From initial concept development through to final handover, our team oversaw every stage of the process to ensure quality, programme, and budget objectives were achieved.

The Outcome

The refurbished soft play area has provided St Helen’s Catholic Primary School with an attractive and modern facility that enhances the pupil experience and encourages active learning through play. The finished space creates a colourful, inclusive environment where children can interact, explore, and develop key social and physical skills in a safe setting.
