Salix Funding: Funding Options for the Public Sector

With global warming continuing to become a growing concern, businesses and individuals alike are making changes to lower their carbon footprint. This being said, many companies lack the money required to make these crucial modifications. This makes prioritising the environment tricky. As such, Salix funding and other schemes have been introduced to help.

What is a Carbon Footprint?

A carbon footprint is a measurement for the amount of greenhouse gases that are produced by our actions. Namely, carbon dioxide and methane. It helps individuals and businesses to be more aware of the impact they are having on the planet. Moreover, many people around the world are actively working on reducing their carbon footprint.

Greenhouse gasses are responsible for many significant environmental and health concerns, risks, and issues. As such, reducing the production of these is crucial. Greenhouse gases are responsible for climate change, air pollution, extreme weather, and wildfires. Moreover, they can also have a knock-on effect on the supply and distribution of certain foods.

Who are Salix?

Salix are an organisation that work on behalf of the government to deliver public sector funding across the UK. These schemes aim to lower carbon emissions. What’s more, they are helping us reach the governments net zero goal. Their funding options also tackle rising energy bills and energy efficiency.

Forming in 2004, Salix had provided funding for over 21,500 projects as of March 2022. This £2.7 million in funding has helped to save 1.1 million tonnes of carbon dioxide each year.
