Green Street Green – School based Nursery

Munday & Cramer is delighted to share the successful completion of the new nursery facility at Green Street Green Primary School.

Last year, we supported the school in securing £150,000 through the School Based Nursery Capital Grant Fund in the first round of the scheme. The funding enabled the delivery of a dedicated nursery space within the existing school, addressing the growing demand for early years provision in the local community.

The Project
The scheme focused on repurposing two surplus classrooms to create a welcoming, accessible and well-equipped nursery environment. The design and delivery provide a sustainable long-term solution, supporting the school’s vision to expand early years education.

The completed works include:
  • A spacious, purpose-built nursery room (approx. 113m²) with durable vinyl flooring.
  • Separate male, female and accessible changing/WC facilities.
  • A new staff office and staff room.
  • Secure lobby and baby changing areas.
  • Kitchen with new units and appliances to support daily activities.
  • Protected server room
  • Outdoor play area
  • New electric gate system for dedicated access
  • Fire safety upgrades, including FD30s fire doors, fire-stopped walls and improved ventilation.
The Outcome
The project has been successfully delivered on time and to budget. The new nursery is now fully operational, providing high-quality learning spaces that will benefit pupils, staff and the local community as a whole.
