Green Street Green Primary School – Remodelling to Provide Nursery

Munday & Cramer is pleased to share an update on the ongoing nursery remodelling project at Green Street Green Primary School. This scheme, secured £150,000 under the School Based Nursery Capital Grant last year and is now progressing on site following successful funding approval.

The Project

The remodelling project aims to deliver a dedicated nursery facility within the existing school, supporting the local need for high-quality early years education. The works are designed to transform part of the school’s learning space into a modern, accessible nursery environment.

The Scope

Although still in the early stages, the project will provide:

  • A spacious, purpose-designed nursery room (approx. 113 m²) with durable vinyl flooring for easy maintenance.

  • Multiple changing areas, including male, female, and accessible facilities.

  • Dedicated staff spaces, including an office and staff room.

  • Accessible WCs, baby changing facilities, and a lobby for secure entry.

  • A kitchen area with new units and appliances to support daily nursery activities.

The remodelling includes upgrades to fire safety, with new FD30s fire doors and fire-stopped walls, as well as enhanced ventilation throughout.

The Progress

With funding secured in last year’s round, the project is now on site and progressing as planned. Early works have begun with focus on internal demolition, reconfiguration of spaces, and installation of new services. The team is working closely with school leadership to minimise disruption and ensure a smooth transition ready for use in September 2025.
