At Barleylands Farm, our team had the pleasure of designing and managing the development of this purpose-built nursery. From initial planning to final completion, we crafted a space that puts children’s needs first while creating a practical, welcoming environment for staff and parents.

The nursery design focused on creating separate spaces for different age groups, understanding that children at various developmental stages have unique needs. Our design incorporated flexible rooms that could adapt to these changing requirements.

This exciting barn conversion transformed the former agricultural building into a vibrant space with fresh external cladding and new windows, bringing natural light and a modern feel to the building. Inside, we created a practical layout including well-equipped kitchen areas, age-appropriate toilet facilities, and dedicated office spaces for staff. The welcoming entrance lobby sets the tone for a warm, professional childcare setting.

Understanding the importance of outdoor play in early years education, we designed secure garden spaces with careful partitioning between different age group areas. These outdoor spaces allow children to explore and learn safely while giving teachers clear oversight of the children.
