M+C break ground on new assembly hall for The King John School

Following the recent delivery of a number of major schemes at The King John School, Munday + Cramer have recently initiated works on architectural design in Essex for a further scheme; the construction of a new assembly hall. The King John School is a highly successful Academy with nearly 2000 students located in Thundersley.

The project has been developed as a direct result of the school’s continued success and growth, and will enable students to be accommodated more comfortably. The hall will also offer theatre provision, providing enhanced facilities for drama studies, as well as small concerts and shows. Hopefully, this new space will add to the cultural enrichment of the students for years to come.

The scheme is due for completion for the start of the new 2015/6 school year in September. It will provide a range of challenges, particularly in relation to the location of the site; replacing the existing hall at the very hub of the school.
