Rob is an experienced building surveyor, with a career spanning over forty years and incorporating periods working within Local Authorities as well as thirty years in private practice with Munday + Cramer.
Rob’s initial career was spent with Basildon, Thurrock and Havering Councils, gaining experience in general building surveying, building control and maintenance surveying. Rob then joined Munday + Cramer in 1986 (which was still operating predominantly as a developer/contractor) to create a new in-house technical team.
The practice moved in to the provision of professional surveying and architectural services, picking up a range of education and commercial clients; continuing this focus today. In addition to the provision of technical project services to these clients; Rob also saw the opportunity to provide professional facilities management services to schools, creating Munday + Cramer’s FM operation. Today, Rob is still responsible for Facilities Management, overseeing the day-to-day operations across over 50 schools in Essex, Kent and London. Rob is also the practice’s lead within the Voluntary Aided school sector, providing support for LCVAP funding submissions. Rob’s benefits from an enhanced understanding of school activities and pressures from his long-term role as a Governor at a local school.
Whilst a well-rounded professional across all building surveying disciplines, Rob’s earlier experience working within Building Control provides developer clients with an invaluable understanding of building controls and development regulations, minimising the risks associated with development projects.
